Even though these Vintage Crackle DIY Angel Ornaments look as though you just found them in Grandma's attic, they are brand new. The vintage and antique effects are created with layers of paint and decoupage mediums. The cute little angels (or cherubs) are from old calendars but you could easily find images in magazines, books, or from other paper products. You will also add classic lace and floral embellishments to pull it all together. The DIY wood ornaments make lovely gifts for someone else's tree or will give your own Christmas tree a special old-fashioned appearance.

Did you feel like you had to use the staining on this craft, or could you make it with just the crackle texture? I love how beautiful your idea turned out. I can see using this as a gift for some of the older members of the family that used to decorate with items like this for their trees when they were younger. I remember hearing the stories about ideas like this on the tree.
