When you have little ones staying over for the holidays, you have to have some things for them to do besides get underfoot while you are cooking, right? What a better way than to make them up a batch of crafts that they can sit down with and stay still for a while? I love these ideas for the younger crowd.

When my kids were young, I kept plenty of melting beads on hand. They so loved to make ornaments with them. Even the neighbors kids would come over to craft with us. We had one large square shape and two star shapes. I used to come up with my own patterns for the square shape since there were not too many patterns available when they were small. And as for the star shapes, they especially loved that one. I think my tree was covered with tons of melting bead stars, and they used to hang them in the window, too. They were so proud of those ornaments and had a lot of fun making them.

Take some stress out of the holiday season and start making your ornaments early. Your kids will love making some recognizable characters to put on the Christmas tree.
