Run, run as fast as you can to your local dollar store! This inexpensive homemade Christmas soap craft is a great idea for a stocking stuffer or neighbor gift. You can even use cookie cutters to create the adorable shape.

Gingerbread Man Christmas Soap

Materials:

  • Melt & Pour glycerin soap
  • Brown soap coloring (or yellow, red, and blue food coloring)
  • Soap fragrance of your choice
  • Gingerbread man cookie cutter
  • Measuring cups (microwave safe)
  • Aluminum foil
  • Bobby Pin
  • Stirring spoons
  • Microwave
  • Clear plastic wrap
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Rubbing alcohol in a spritzer bottle
  • Eye dropper

Instructions:

  1. Tear off a small sheet of aluminum foil.

  2. Wrap aluminum foil around the bottom of your cookie cutter.

  3. Cut soap into ice cubed sized chunks.

  4. Add approximately 3 oz of soap into a measuring cup. Microwave 30 seconds and then additional 10 second increments until all soap is melted. Stir with spoon.

  5. Add brown (or yellow, red and blue) color additive and stir.

  6. Pour brown soap into the gingerbread cookie cutter like a soap mold.

  7. Spritz with rubbing alcohol to remove air bubbles.

  8. Allow to dry 1 - 2 hours.

  9. Remove solidified gingerbread man soap from the cookie cutter.

  10. Using a bobby pin, carve the eyes, mouth, buttons, decorative elements into the soap.

  11. Add approximately 2 oz of white soap into a measuring cup. Microwave 30 seconds all white soap is melted. Stir with spoon.

  12. Spritz gingerbread man soap with rubbing alcohol. This will help the white soap to adhere in the next step.

  13. Using the eye dropper, decorate the gingerbread man soap with white soap.

  14. Spritz with rubbing alcohol.

  15. Allow soap to solidify 5 to 10 minutes.

  16. Wrap soap in clear plastic wrap.
