Beaded Mistletoe Earrings

Materials:

  • 2 ear loops
  • 10 inches 20 gauge wire
  • 2 small pearl beads (4 mm)
  • 2 medium red beads (6 to 8 mm)
  • 2 jump rings
  • Round nose pliers
  • Wire cutter
  • Nipper tool

Instructions:

  1. Cut two 5 inch long wires
     
  2. Place one end of the wire in between round nose pliers
     
  3. Form the first loop
     
  4. Remove loop from round nose pliers and place tail wire between round nose pliers and form a 2nd loop
     
  5. Remove from round nose pliers and turn over wire
     
  6. Place tail wire between round nose pliers and form a 3rd loop
     
  7. Remove from round nose pliers
     
  8. Using your hands and pliers, flatten mistletoe wire so that they are all on the same plane
     
  9. Bend the wire at the base of the mistletoe shape so that it looks like a stem
     
  10. Thread your small pearl bead on to the wire
     
  11. Thread your medium red bead onto the wire
     
  12. Close by forming a small loop with your round nose pliers and then securing with 3 twists
     
  13. Use your nipper tool to cut off excess wire
     
  14. Open jump ring
     
  15. Link 1 jump ring to the ear loop and mistletoe top end
     
  16. Close jump ring
     
  17. Repeat for the other earring

Do you find that it takes some practice to get your loops just right? I always get them uneven, and it makes me angry that I spend the time and get it wrong. I wonder if you could do something similar with jump rings and just attach them to the bottom of the earring. Did you try it that way too?

So simple but so cute are these Beaded mistletoe earrings. I can not believe they are so easy and there is a video that shows you how. This is a great pair of earrings for the holidays and I will be making some for me and a few for my family and friends. I also learned a better way to make the loops by watching this. Thanks.
