Faux Lighted Wine Bottle

Looking for holiday outdoor decorating ideas that are completely unique? Use a plastic condiments bottle instead of a wine bottle and holiday embellishments to create a Faux Lighted Wine Bottle. Place a few on your porch to light the way all winter.

Faux Lighted Bottle
 

Materials:

  • Plastic condiment bottle
  • 20-count Christmas light set without a top plug
  • Holiday pick of your choice
  • 1/2” wide Holiday ribbon
  • 3” wide Holiday ribbon
  • Drill & Dill Bits
  • Hot glue gun & glue sticks
  • Double-sided tape
  • Masking tape
  • Safety glasses
  • Wine cork that fits the top of the plastic bottle

Instructions:

  1. Select an empty plastic condiment bottle that resembles a wine bottle in shape and color. Clean condiment bottle and remove all labels by soaking in water overnight. Dry the bottle.
     
  2. Place a small amount of masking tape about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the bottle. While wearing safety glasses, drill a 3/8” or 1/2” hole through the masking tape and bottle.
     
  3. Attach the holiday pick using hot glue near the base of the bottle neck.
     
  4. Wrap 1/2” holiday ribbon around the bottle neck starting at the base of the neck all the way to the top, covering the threads at the top. Hot glue in place
     
  5. Attach 3” wide holiday ribbon around the body of the bottle using doublesided tape.
     
  6. Insert christmas lights through the hole drilled in Step 2. Insert wine cork.
     
  7. Plug in christmas lights and enjoy the ambiance!
