I would never have though to use a gumball machine to make a snow globe. What a wonderfully fun idea! Do you use the gumball machines for other holiday decorations like Fourth of July or Easter? I bet they would work well for a kid's party too. You could make one for each child and adorn it with the name of each.

Oh, my goodness is this cute! I have an old-school gumball machine in my basement and I wasn't sure what to do with it. This would be the perfect project! I know that my local craft store and dollar stores sell lots of Christmas miniatures, so I could create a whole little scene inside. It might also be fun to do one of those faux terrariums with a tiny gnome inside when it isn't the holiday season.

I have seen small plastic gum ball machines at the dollar store in the toy area but never thought of a way to use them. Now I can really make some cute decorations for Christmas. I can also make some for year around, like put sand in one with beach decorations for summer. Thanks for the inspiration.

Wow! Very brilliant idea. We have like 5 gumball machines at home. Now I can make use of them. From now on, I will try to avoid throwing things and find how to make something out of these stuff at home. Very clever!

This is so super cute and I have got to make one for me and some for Christmas gifts for some family members. Where can I buy these gumball machines because I can not find any at thrift stores? I would like to make than middle size. This is such a great project and I love that you can decorate these snow globes with a scene of your choice to make it different. This would even be great for teacher,Fathers Day,Mother's Day or even for anyone not just for Christmas. Choose a theme and go with it. This looks like a lot of fun. Thanks.
