Raid your family's closets or hit the thrift store for this Thrifty Flannel-Wrapped Wreath Idea. Most of us wear flannels in the winter and associate that plaid pattern with cold weather. That is why this DIY wreath is so fitting for the holidays. By choosing a few different but complementary colors, you can create a beautiful pattern to wrap around your wreath base. Finish your DIY Christmas wreath off by adding a bit of beautiful Christmas swag, such as snow-capped evergreen branches, pine cones, and berries.

This is really a beautiful wreath because of the flannel. I think this would be a wonderful wreath to make from some of my late father in law's flannel shirts. I would use other kinds of embellishments on the side of the wreath. So many different things could be used. Silk flowers, real pine cones, etc. My father in law got the nickname candy man because he passed out peppermint swirl candies to his grandchildren. The cellophane wrapped candies would be perfect in the dcor too.

Great idea! This is really a unique Christmas wreath and I love the country look of it.

I love things that are different. And this is really one of the best yet. I have a bunch of old flannel sheets that I brought with me when I moved. But I don't need them in Florida so I can use them for this. What a great recycle project. Thank you.

I would never have thought to use flannel scraps this way! You can make several wreaths to give out as gifts or to use for different rooms of the house when you plan to have several house guests stay over for the holidays! Wonderful ideas, thanks so much for posting!
