Other Super Simple Wine Bottle Crafts
1. Remember making sand art as a kid? Create a new masterpiece with an empty wine bottle, funnel, and some colored sand. Pick colors that match your decorations (or are just your favorite colors) and get to layering!
2. Similar to the sand art, you could fill your bottle with interesting beads or shells, or sea glass. As an on-going decoration, you could add these tiny objects to the bottle as you find them to create a decoration that is uniquely yours.
3. If you have a bit of patience, there is a way to color your bottles without paint! After removing the label from the bottle, spray the bottom inch or so of the bottle with spray adhesive. Then, simply tightly wrap yarn or twine around the bottle, pausing every inch to spray more adhesive until the bottle is covered.

This looks like it could be a lot of fun to make! I think it would be a neat and festive addition to a small nightstand or other table, too.

My partner and I recently got engage after we bought our first house together, we have an empty bottle of champagne from it, I was thinking this is a great idea for the bottle and maybe engrave the engagement date on to the bottle so it is not just gathering dust)

One of the wine bottles I have done. You need to be aware of the dangers of making them with the wrong tools and the wrong way As well as the danger of the wrong lights setting something on fire or burning you when the bottle overheats. it can even got so hot it will explode.

Making lighted wine bottles is not cheap nor is it something you should do unless you are willing to spend the money and just bottle will cost you much more than the amount allotted here for this project. The diamond drill bit alone will cost more than their amount states then the lights have to be a special type to keep from overheating the bottle. I have made several because I sell them. We invested in the RIGHT drill bit plus the RIGHT lights, but I can buy wholesale and they still cost around $4 to $6 per bottle. It is cheaper for you to just buy one that a pro has made than it is to make just one for yourself.
