Recycled Gift Card Christmas Earrings
This Christmas save some green with eco-friendly projects. If you're looking for Christmas jewelry ideas, look no further than Recycled Gift Card Christmas Earrings. This is a great excuse to reuse those gift cards you no longer want or need.
Materials:
- Zero balance gift card
- 2 ear loop wires
- 2 head pins
- 4 small beads
- 2 medium beads
- 6 jump rings
- Sharp scissors
- Drill with 1/16” drill bit or 1/8” hole puncher

- Wire cutter
Instructions:
-
Cut two rectangles from the gift card. The earrings shown are approximately 1 inch wide by 1.5 inches tall.
-
Drill or punch a hole near the top and the bottom of each rectangle.
-
Using your head pins, thread 3 beads on each head pin and close with a loop at the top.
-
Open all 6 jump rings.
-
Link 1 jump ring to the ear loop wire and close.
-
Attach a second jump ring to the first jump ring and the top of the card rectangle. Close jump ring.
-
Attach the closed head pin with beads to the bottom of the card rectangle with a third jump ring. Close jump ring.
-
Repeat for the other earring.
- Optional: Instead of cutting out 2 rectangles, try other shapes such as a guitar pick or a square/diamond shape. If you don’t have a drill, use a small 1/8” hole puncher instead.
