I love how pretty your tree turned out. Do you have the directions for the clay base that you made? I clicked on the link to the Martha Stewart craft, but all I got was a page of crafts to click on instead. I think that your idea is excellent to use for a village, a centerpiece, or to give as a gift to someone during the holidays.

This is such a unique idea! I love how the newspaper makes it look almost like branches, and the glitter is a nice touch.

This is really different. I like unique decorations and this certainly fits that. And after reading thru the directions I can see it's very easy too. So it's cute, easy and very inexpensive to make. Those words are music to the ears of someone on a fixed income. Thank you for sharing it.

Great idea for my office table! Cute gift for my co-workers too. Since my desk is full of scrap papers, might just make into a mini Christmas tree. You could also put glow in the dark glue around the edge, to brighten it up during dark.

It is fun to have replica of a real tree sitting on your mantel. This brings that true Christmas spirit into your home.

This Glittery Newspaper tree would be perfect in so many settings such as a group of them for a table centerpiece, under the real Christmas tree, or a tiny village. I love it when we can recycle things into something else that has value. I might make one of these and enter it into the recycling category of our county fair!

I agree with the previous posters. the link you speak of does not tell how to make it at all. IE...no instructions about what size newspaper pieces to use or anything else. It only states vague comments of this womans' methods. It does not have instructions.

Hi, the blogger says that she used the tree found on http://www.marthastewart.com/268174/shimmering-stacked-trees?lnc=1873ed6dcf7ee010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&rsc=taxonomylist_holiday_christmas-trees as inspiration and followed the instructions there with a few changes in materials, which she notes on the page. Hopefully this helps. Please reply if this does not clarify. Thanks -Krista, editor, AllFreeChristmasCrafts
