Christmas is the perfect time to go green and help the planet, and these recycled Christmas crafts are a fun way to do that. Did you know that, in 1970, a new celebration took place in the United States that has since been an annual holiday observed in about 192 counties? This celebration was called Earth Day, which was organized to raise awareness for the need of conservation regarding our earth. Those who wish to participate celebrate this earth-loving holiday on April 22. Each area has various ways in which Earth Day is honored. Many have teach-ins, recycling programs, tree planting, and ceremonies. The most important aspect of Earth Day is to look at past mistakes and make changes that will positively impact the world. We know it's a small part, but creating recycled Christmas crafts does help to reduce, reuse, and recycle. This year, go green (and red) to make it an especially memorable holiday season.

What an impressive way to make decorations for Christmas and recycle something you use anyway. My husband and I drink a lot of pop from two liters so I can see making a whole bunch of these cuties. Does it matter if it is clear or colored bottles? Thanks for the post!

The project will not let me print it out. Have saved to Facebook but won't let me save!

Hello. What an absolutely wonderful idea to make for my church Christmas Bazaar. I can't seem to get the instructions. I am assuming I will be using folk art paint and just copy from the photo. Thank you for the idea.

These are quite cute but there really aren't any directions - just a bunch of photos.
