By adding a fabric background and ribbon, this DIY advent calendar is a practically a piece of art on your wall. There's no doubt that everyone loves advent calendars, especially kids. It's the highlight of those 25 days, or, at least 23 of them. Put little gifts inside the horizontal paper roll and cover it with tissue paper. The only problem is having to wait until the next day to see the next surprise.

This idea is so great! I like the fact that you can use this advent calendar year after year! It's simple to make and can be made to match any decor. It could be covered with fabric or wallpaper....whatever you want! You can make it match your decor. You could also use a thin wood instead of the cardboard. There are so many options!
