Quilted Christmas Stockings from Baby Clothes

"I created a contrasting pair of colorful Christmas stockings out of sentimental baby clothes. To begin with, I chose 5 pieces of clothing with coordinating colors. I cut each into 3 inch strips. Then, using a stocking template I quilted the strips directly onto the batting. Using the same stocking template, I cut out two pieces from a soft blanket for the lining. The next step was to sew together the cuff. Once all the pieces were cut out, I sewed them all together along the top edge. Finally I turned the entire stocking right side out."

This is a great way to re-purpose sentimental baby clothes. I love taking these out at Christmas time because I'm reminded of when our children were babies.
