Book Craft Ideas for Christmas

If you have old books lying around that you will never, ever read, why not make something of them? Maybe you cherish every book you own, and that's fine, too. Pick up a book at your local thrift store for a couple pretty pennies and make any of these 14 fabulous book crafts! You will save a fortune on your Christmas decorating this season and your house will be adorned with vintage-inspired decorations. Grab a book of text or a book of sheet music and follow any of these wonderful tutorials to create a book craft you will cherish for a lifetime.

DIY Wreaths

Make a gorgeous and unique wreath for your door when you create any of these DIY wreaths. These book crafts use various paper-folding and paper-cutting techniques to create different wreaths from the same materials. While the pages for the Book Leaf Wreath are made to look like long and beautiful leaves, the Recycled Book Rosette Wreath uses folded pages to create paper roses.

Find your oldest book to make yellowed wreaths with a very vintage feel, or use a newer book to create a crisp white wreath. If you have plenty of old sheet music around, the Musical Christmas Wreath is a perfect book craft. If you hang any of these wreaths on your front door, just make sure they're protected from the elements!

Homemade Ornaments

Homemade ornaments are always a fabulous embellishment for any Christmas tree, and the bright whites and faded yellows of book pages contrast beautifully with the green pine. Each of these four ornaments were designed with vintage in mind. Grab an old music book and make the Music Sheet Christmas Ornaments or the Victorian Angel Ornaments.

Each of these ornament crafts have a round and ruffled paper border, creating a vintage feel and a beautiful design. If your tree could use an animal ornament, try making the Recycled Bird Ornament. This ornament is so simple and so lovely. If you want an even simpler look, try the Altered Book Victorian Style Christmas Ornament. You will absolutely cherish the way these book crafts add to your Christmas tree.

Handmade Christmas Decorations

Do you need a new mantel decoration? How about an innovative way to store your Christmas cards? These handmade Christmas decorations from books are sure to provide the perfect inspiration. If you make the Christmas Book Decorations, you don't even need to take apart the book you're using!

The Stand Up Book Angel and the Christmas Tree Altered Book are both great ways to make use of book pages and their covers. If you want a wall decoration that also stores Christmas cards, try making the Altered Book Card Holder. These beautiful book crafts will easily turn into your favorite Christmas decorations.
